Self-Portrait in the Cistern

Lu Dani lived half her life with the mind of an eight-year-old. Her last memory: her mother locked her in a cistern to drown for her brother’s sake. Her soul saw through false kinship and she is reborn as rich girl Lin Xi. A loving new family awakens her gift for painting, and her art stuns the world. When the Lu family, reaping karma, tries to cash in and smear her, she is no longer the helpless Dani—she strikes back, turns away with pride, and writes her own brilliant life.
