The Mountain Forager

To secure a life for his son Lin Zhi's family, fifty-year-old Lin Wangshan sold the ancestral property and went to the city to work as an unpaid servant, only to be humiliated at every turn by his daughter-in-law, Wang Yali. Utterly heartbroken, he resolutely returned to the countryside and took up his old trade as a "mountain forager" once more. He and Zhou Tieniu formed a harvesting team, ventured deep into dangerous terrain, and gathered sky-high-priced blood lingzhi. He struck an exclusive partnership with CEO Su Wanqing and quickly amassed a fortune of tens of millions. Greedy Lin Zhi and his wife tried to forge medical records and spread rumors on a livestream to blackmail him, but Su Wanqing laid a trap and turned the scheme back on them; in the end they were left in debt and out of work. Lin Wangshan let go of his hatred, led the whole village to prosperity, set aside the halo of "Mountain King," and welcomed a clear-sighted latter half of life.
