The Imperial Guard in Modern Times

Lu Zheng, commander-in-chief of the Embroidered Uniform Guard, wakes to find that he has traveled five hundred years into the future and possessed a junior of the Lu family who bears the very same name. Those old acquaintances of the past have now become lonely immortals through the long years, waiting all this time to be reunited with him. The modern world has no court struggles, nor life-and-death crises in which heads roll at the slightest provocation—only three aunts who truly care about him. One day, the three aunts tell him solemnly that the family is under threat from the "King of Assassins" and Japanese samurai, and could collapse at any moment. Lu Zheng scratches his head and finds it only amusing—in his eyes, a threat of this degree hardly counts as a threat at all.
