Story summary
Gu Zhi rushes to the bookstore through the rain for a readers' meetup, only to find that Zhou Lin has prepared a two-person old-book exchange—each had been misunderstanding the meaning of the invitation all along. She decides to first explain the work arrangement she had assumed, and he takes down the gift that had made things awkward. By the time the rain stops, the two have found books they both genuinely like, and they arrange another meeting kept free of collaboration business, making their willingness to get to know each other clear.
