Story summary
Ye Rui invites Lin Zhou to hold an evening gathering at the corner flower shop in hopes of enlivening the quiet neighborhood, but Lin Zhou points out that the cramped space cannot accommodate the crowd she envisions. After surveying the street together, the two change the gathering into a staggered exchange of homemade small goods, keeping the walkway outside clear. She takes charge of introducing floral materials while he prepares small portions of refreshments, allowing neighbors to come and go freely; an invitation with scaled-down ambitions ends up drawing far more relaxed responses.
