Story summary
He Ning and Song Chuan once promised to take a photo of the same street in front of the bookstore after every rainy season; this year, an old building was demolished, and the familiar vantage point has been replaced by construction barriers. She wants to pause the documentation, but he brings out clues about pedestrians overlooked in the past years' photos. The two choose a safe shooting location anew while interviewing long-time residents willing to share their memories, expanding what was once a fixed frame into an archive of neighborhood change, updating the promise along with reality.
