Story summary
After losing her job, An He agrees with Lin Du to complete one set of job application materials at the café each week; after several rejections, she begins faking her progress out of fear of letting down his expectations. A power outage causes an unsaved document to be lost, and she finally speaks about her exhaustion. Lin Du suggests dropping the routine of checking final results and simply keeping the shared working hours; afterward, she starts by organizing an old draft, restoring the promise to a source of support rather than a deadline.
