Story summary
Xu Ling promises to hold a regular bouquet of fresh flowers for Zhou Yu every week; after weeks go by with no one picking them up, she assumes he has forgotten the promise, until she receives his new work address following a job transfer. Zhou Yu had always assumed the recurring order was automatically canceled, while she had continued preparing the stock based on the verbal commitment. The two settle the actual losses and change future purchases to order-by-order confirmations; the flowers left in the bucket are gifted to neighbors, and a piece of goodwill finds a way to endure without relying solely on unspoken understanding.
