Story summary
Xu Zhen visits the bookstore after the rain to pick up a repaired old book, but He Zhi asks her to help decide whether the creases on the pages should be kept, prolonging the brief handover. The creases came from a page she had read repeatedly in her early years, whereas he had initially assumed that restoration meant removing all traces. She explains the reasons for preserving old objects, and the two decide to address only the damage while keeping the reading marks, also agreeing to bring the items each is most reluctant to renovate next time.
