Story summary
Wen Yao promised to take the last bus with Lu Ting after a performance to view the city at night, but an unexpected encore cut their time short; by the time they finally caught the bus, neither had the energy to speak. She worried about once again letting their date be reduced to a mere postscript to work, while he admitted he had no desire to prove his care solely through accommodating her. They got off early at a stop with late-night food stalls to reconsider their available days off, turning a tiring date into an opportunity to readjust their pace together.
