Story summary
Qin Cheng holds down a steady job managing an old cinema, while Ye Xu travels constantly with productions; their shared watchlist keeps growing, but the last film they actually watched together dates back to last year. When a rare reunion is still largely consumed by remote work, she proposes that they stop substituting future plans for presence in the moment. Ye Xu makes a conscious effort to cut back on travel and accepts that she will not wait indefinitely; they schedule a clear discussion regarding their living arrangements three months down the line.
