Story summary
Song Zhi and Mo Xing agreed to take turns visiting each other's cities, but while checking expenses at the station before departing, they discover that a change in income has made this reciprocal arrangement difficult to sustain. The two no longer mechanically insist on an equal number of visits, instead reallocating trips based on time and costs. The new plan reduces the frequency of visits, but ensures that departures no longer depend on concealing difficulties to maintain appearances, giving their relationship room to breathe through an honest reckoning.
