Story summary
While sorting old cassette tapes in the bookstore after the rain, Gu Ning hears an anonymous reader's message and assumes the sender has long been out of touch; however, broadcast director Xu Yan finds a public program schedule in the archives. Using available contact information, the two ask if the person is willing to talk again, but the individual chooses to keep only the original recording. Gu Ning respects this decision and stops inventing follow-up stories for the echo, instead noting the recording era beside the display and letting those words remain where they chose to stay.
