Story summary
Before departing, Ye Qing checks the performance roster with Cheng Yan at the station, discovering that the role she missed out on was not secretly reassigned, but rather that her application materials were not submitted on time. Cheng Yan admits the reminders were not clear enough, and she stops treating the other person as the arbiter of her future. Both submit the records that can still be preserved and confirm that she will personally handle the next application. As the train departs, they end their dispute, as well as an overly dependent mode of collaboration.
