Story summary
Lin Yun insists on selecting books face-to-face, while Jiang Du is accustomed to online communication. In the bookstore after the rain, they argue over whether to add web services, gradually mistaking differences in methodology for differences in values. After spending a day accompanying each other through their respective work, they finally see the differing needs of remote readers and in-store regulars. The bookstore subsequently pilots only limited reservations, and both retain their respective areas of expertise, acknowledging that closeness does not require all judgments to ultimately align.
