Story summary
Ye Zhou and Wen Zhi arrange to meet at the restaurant after work, but each time ends with him tending to customers while she waits alone, making the distance across the shared table far longer than the time on the menu. Wen Zhi suggests meeting somewhere neither of them has to work in the future; initially reluctant to step away, Ye Zhou eventually arranges shift handovers. A regular first outing allows him to hear her recount her entire day, freeing their dates from depending on idle moments at the restaurant.
