Story summary
At the station before parting ways, Lin Yi finds the old notebook Song Zhou had lent them. Intending to take it as a keepsake, Lin Yi notices unpublished design materials inside and decides to contact Song Zhou first. Song Zhou wishes to have the original back, but is willing to photocopy several pages of sketches they completed together. Lin Yi completes the mailing procedures and boards the train carrying only the permitted portion; this choice gives the memory a portable form without treating sentiment as a reason to claim everything.
