The next evening Yang Guo turned the plaque again. Tonight the one chosen to attend him was Huang Rong.

Guo Jing asked, “Guo’er, how do you mean to favor Rong’er tonight?”

Yang Guo said, “Uncle Guo, Rong’er was your wife. Now she is my beloved concubine. I want the first time I take her to be as unrestrained as when the two of you were still husband and wife. So tonight, when I favor Rong’er, I will use no special method at all. Go and tell her that tonight she is to couple with me as an ordinary husband and wife.”

Guo Jing said, “Guo’er, Uncle Guo thanks you on Rong’er’s behalf. I’ll go and prepare at once.”

That night Yang Guo and Huang Rong talked and twined together in the room. As she spoke she undid the buttons of her clothes, and before long both robe and trousers were off. She wore only a dudou and a pair of underpants, and on either side of the dudou half of each pale breast showed.

“Guo’er! Undress me!” Huang Rong said.

She turned the ribbon at the back of the dudou into Yang Guo’s hand. He gave it an easy pull, and the whole garment came away.

“Guo’er… the trousers too…!” Huang Rong said, her voice soft and coy.

Yang Guo crouched and drew off her underpants as well. A full, snow-white bottom appeared before him. He reached casually into the cleft of her buttocks and felt downward toward her sex, and his fingers came away wet.

“Guo’er! You’ve already touched me—do you still need me to answer… mm…?” Huang Rong said, turning around.

When she had finished speaking she opened her legs, caught his hand, and pressed it to her sex. Her own hand slipped into his trousers and closed around that gift of his—only to find it soft and yielding.

“Guo’er! Are you very tired today?” Huang Rong asked, gentle and close.

“A little tired, but it’s nothing,” Yang Guo said.

His fingers parted her two lips, and he slid his middle finger into her passage. Huang Rong moaned softly under her breath and hurriedly pulled his trousers down as well.

“Guo’er! Let me kiss your cock a little, and then we’ll get into bed!” Huang Rong said, her body going soft.

“All right,” Yang Guo said, and got onto the bed.

Seeing him lie down, Huang Rong straddled him.

“Guo’er! Let’s lick each other. All right?” she asked, her eyes heavy with desire.

“All right,” Yang Guo answered.

Huang Rong moved her legs up to either side of his face, set her clitoris to his mouth, and sank her hips. It landed true: her clit pressed to his lips. Yang Guo did not delay. He took it between his lips at once and teased it lightly with the tip of his tongue.

“Mm… good… ah… mm… so good,” Huang Rong moaned, rocking her hips.

While she took his mouth, she scratched lightly at his balls with her nails, then put out her tongue and licked along the soft shaft. She licked with care, teased the head with the tip of her tongue, then opened her mouth and took the whole length in, rising and falling in a slow rhythm.

The friction of her lips began to lift him. When Huang Rong saw it, joy leapt in her, and she quickened at once, her tongue flicking like a little snake. The fire she kindled with that pretty mouth ran through his whole body. Seeing her wetness flowing more and more, he drove his thick fingers in. Huang Rong cried out at the thrust: “Ah…!”

After they had licked each other, both of them were boiling. Yang Guo had her lie back, straddled her, parted her legs, and pushed his burning shaft into her slick passage. Once that thick length was inside her, every little itch no longer mattered. What she needed now was to be driven all the way to her core. Only her core could bring on a fierce climax.

“Guo’er, deeper… ah. Mm… yes… farther… ah… faster… ah… ah…” Huang Rong twisted and cried without stopping, her hips meeting his thrusts, driving her core hard against the head of him.

Yang Guo lifted both her legs. He gathered the true qi in his body and stored it in the Ren and Du meridians, sent it wandering along the Foot Greater Yin through Xuanji, Huagai, and Yutan, forced the central qi back down into his dantian, and then drove that qi into his jade stem. His shaft swelled all at once. With the strength of his waist he thrust fast, and every stroke made Huang Rong cry out wildly. She clutched the sheets and screamed.

“Ah… ah… brother… you’re circulating your power again… I can’t bear it. It’s so full down there… ah… I’m… coming… ah…”

Seeing her climax arrive, Yang Guo drove on even harder and faster, and soon spent himself in the same crest.

After the climax, Yang Guo and Huang Rong fell happily asleep.

The next day Guo Jing came to him in haste. “Guo’er. The Mongol host has returned in force. Kublai is leading the army, with several hundred Western cannon, straight at Xiangyang!”

While Yang Guo and Guo Jing were still discussing how to beat the enemy back, a soldier burst in with urgent word from the field.

The soldier said, “Report, Marshal. The city gate has been broken by the Mongol cannon. The enemy is already inside the city. Please withdraw at once!”

Guo Jing sighed. “I never thought that after twenty years of holding Xiangyang, Guo Jing still could not keep even half the realm of Great Song. Where is Heaven’s justice?”

Yang Guo said, “Uncle Guo, your loyalty is pure. You held Xiangyang for twenty years, and the people love you for it. But Great Song, rotten for so many years, no longer has any strength left to resist the Mongols. This is not your fault. The Mongol army has already broken the city. Once Xiangyang falls, the rivers and mountains of Great Song are lost. You have guarded Xiangyang for twenty years. You have already done all that a subject of Great Song owes in defending the realm and keeping the state at peace. Now the city is broken, and the great tide of Song is spent. It seems Heaven’s will that the Mongols take the Central Plains.”

Guo Jing said, “Guo’er, it isn’t that Uncle Guo fails to understand. Only, once the Mongol Tartars occupy the Central Plains, the common people will be plunged into misery. Whatever happens, I cannot bear to see that.”

Yang Guo said, “Uncle Guo, there is only one plan left.”

Guo Jing said, “I am willing to hear it in full.”

Yang Guo said, “All we can do now is place our hope in those who come after. But we cannot do nothing. We must prepare for the righteous men who will resist the Mongols later.”

Guo Jing said, “How should we prepare?”

Yang Guo said, “Uncle Guo, gather every smith in the city. I have decided to take my Heavy Sword of Dark Iron, together with Western refined gold, and cast them into one saber and one sword. Then we will conceal your Wumu Legacy and the True Essence of the Nine Yin upon those blades, to aid worthy heroes of the future in resisting the Mongols.”

Guo Jing said, “A fine plan. Guo’er, Uncle Guo will see to it at once.”

When the precious sword and the precious saber were finished, Yang Guo said to Guo Jing, “Uncle Guo, our work is done. What remains we must leave to those who come after. It is time we withdrew from the jianghu.”

The next day Yang Guo and Guo Jing took Xiaolongnü, Guo Xiang, Lu Wushuang, Cheng Ying, Gongsun Lü’e, Guo Fu, and Huang Rong, and went into seclusion in the Valley of the Divine Condor. From then on, in that valley, Yang Guo favored his beloved concubines every day and lived a carefree life like an immortal, at peace with the world.
