Qin Yang has only just stepped out of school, ready to welcome a bright life, when his parents die in a shipwreck and, on the side, leave him a million in debt—the creditors plant themselves right at his door, more punctual than his college entrance exam. With nowhere left to turn, the dragon pearl he has carried in his body since childhood suddenly awakens, instantly granting him outrageously wild powers: "seabed x-ray vision," a "human submarine," and "control over ocean currents." From then on, Qin Yang's daily life becomes this: catch a few ornate spiny lobsters to pay the interest, haul up a few wild large yellow croakers to cover the water and electricity, and now and then dive down to pick up treasure from a sunken ship and wipe out most of the debt on the spot—and, while he's at it, teach a lesson to the snobs who looked down on him. He also founds the company "Haishen Yuanyang" and turns his fortunes around together with his girlfriend Su Yao. It looks like smooth sailing, but the stronger the dragon pearl's power grows, the more often Qin Yang dreams of a pitch-black seabed, and of the last glimpse of the ship his parents were on back then. Those past events he had thought were accidents seem, with every current, to be pulling him toward a deeper, darker place...
