Story summary
During an early morning trial sale of a new product, Fang He and Xu Jing argue for a week over the retail price, until weighing the actual ingredients reveals that each had overlooked different costs. She underestimated packaging, and he failed to factor in waste rates. Letting go of their competition over who understands business better, they build a verifiable cost sheet together, deciding to test-sell small batches before expanding production; the first breakfast before opening also becomes the start of them relearning how to consult each other.
