Seaside Bench · Agreement 223

Original title: 海边的长椅·约定 223

Synopsis only

An Wei and Xu Yan agree to repaint the seaside bench every year, but this year they discover the wooden planks have rotted from the inside, and a new coat of paint can no longer fulfill the promise of continued use. Reluctant to part with the memories left by the old bench, she listens as he suggests replacing it after demonstrating the structural inspection. The two preserve an intact backboard, install it beside the new bench with an explanation of its origins, turning the agreement from keeping the exact same object into continuing to care for the people who come here.
