Story summary
On the last bus, Su Ning routinely checks Cheng Chuan's daily draft translations. Helping out a few times has gradually turned into regular nighttime work, yet she has felt too embarrassed to say she needs rest. She explicitly proposes ending the uncompensated proofreading and suggests formal commission channels. Cheng Chuan accepts and puts away the laptop, and the two chat for the first time solely about new shops along the route. The "good night" at the final stop is not followed by new files, restoring their shared ride to its original relaxed place.
