Stories

I swear it was here when I looked a minute ago….

But I guess not.

I can’t believe it’s already so late… and I still have so much to do.

It feels like I’ve worked late every night this week and I’m still behind.

I thought being a professor would be a huge step up from being a guest lecturer. But now that I’m here, I don’t know. I guess it was worth it?

I’m just tired of being tired all the time.

I run a frustrated hand through my hair… trying to remember what else it was I need to do tonight before I can finally go home.

Ugh. My shoulders are tight.

My mind begins to wander, thinking about all the different ways I’ve neglected myself lately. I haven’t had time for hobbies or fun, and I haven’t seen my friends lately…

I can’t even think about dating these days.

I’ve got to get a better handle on things. At this rate, I’m going to burn out in a few weeks.

“Who’s there?”

“Oh, professor!

I, um... I didn’t know you were still here! I’m sorry, I can-

”

Ah, my teaching assistant.

Such a sight for sore eyes… though I’m surprised she’s still in the building so late. Surely a girl like that has to have better plans on a Friday night…

“No, no, come in. Please.

I just didn’t know you were still here.

”

I slide my hand across the desk nervously, reaching for my pen. Something to keep my hands busy.

For some reason, her presence here in my office after hours is… off-putting.

Not in a bad way, though.

Especially in that skirt… her hair pulled back, not into her usual high pony, but into a messy bun.

It looks like she thought she was here alone, too. I’ve never seen her this… casual.

I try not to stare as she gives me a smile.

“Same, I thought you went home hours ago.

It’s been so quiet, I thought I was the only one in the building.

What are you still doing here so late?

”

“Just working.

Still adding commentary to that last batch of essays…

And trying to get myself organized… you know how it goes.

”

“Oh, yeah.

The week got away from me, too.

I’m still catching up on some things I had intended to do on Monday.

”

I’m relieved and a little ashamed about what I was thinking about right before she walked in.

With the way things have been going, who knows what she may have walked in on if I’d decided to try to blow off some steam in the office tonight.

I mean, not that I do that often, but sometimes… well, it just happens. Especially when I’m here practically all hours of the day and night.

“Penny for your thoughts, professor?”

My cheeks redden a little when I realize I’ve been so quiet.

Did she ask me a question?

I don’t… I think I’ve just been starting off into space… maybe even staring at her.

“Sorry, my mind is somewhere else tonight”

“You know… I was just about to pack up and head home but…

I could stick around and help… if you wanted.

”

“ That is kind of what I’m here for, you know.”

I do know that.

God, I think it a million times a week, how lost I’d be without her here.

Always so helpful, and so efficient. Having an assistant that is so attentive and has a genuine thirst for knowledge… it’s been the one thing that’s made this academic year bearable.

You could, but right now I’m just trying to find my glasses.

I won’t even be able to tell you what needs to be graded unless I–

“Well, professor, lucky for you I can help with that too.

Here, I’ll come around there… and check the floor. While you search the desk.

”

She walks around the side of my desk and immediately gets to work, searching the files and books there like some sort of anthropological dig site.

It makes me smile.

How seriously she takes everything that she decides to do.

I think it’s what made her such an easy first choice for TA this semester.

Whether it’s taking a meeting I forgot or marking a paper I got frustrated with, her always-organised approach is the perfect balance to my absent-minded way of life. Especially lately.

“You know, I don’t think I’ve told you just how grateful I am for you.

”

The comment was out of my mouth before I could think twice about it. But even if I was going to regret it, I can’t for long because of the way she’s looking up at me. My mind is entirely blank, staring into those deep brown eyes.

“Oh yeah? What makes you say that, professor?”

“It’s just…

You’re a very diligent assistant.

The work you do has really saved me this semester.

”

She’s on her knees in front of me still, and god, I wish she wasn’t. It’s impossible not to notice the strap of her bra peaking out from the blouse that’s sliding down her shoulder.

“I don’t know where I’d be without you.

And I— I don’t think I tell you… enough.

”

I shake my head, trying to shake loose the thoughts running through my mind… of unbuttoning that shirt, stripping that bra off… hearing what sounds she would make for me while I—

No. Can’t go there. She may be my TA, but she is technically still a student… and at least a decade younger than me.

Besides, there’s no way she’s interested.

I’ve got to get it together… I can’t let my thoughts go there.

“So I’m diligent. And tidy up after you.

Is that the only reason you can’t live without me?

”

The way she’s looking at me feels a little mischievous… maybe even… a little flirty. She waits… staring up at me… it’s like she’s daring me to say more, to acknowledge what I’m trying so hard not to think about.

That I want her.

That I’ve wanted her since the day she walked into my office.

This isn’t really happening. I’m just imagining it.

“Is that really all you want from me, professor?”

She moves closer to me, and I’m not sure she realises what she’s doing to me. Or maybe she does. It’s like she’s daring me to say the quiet part out loud… as if she already knows what I’m thinking and wants to hear it for herself.

“Oh hey, look what I found.

”

She lifts her hand up, my glasses cradled in her palm as she offers them to me.

I reach out for them but I can’t help noticing how her blouse has pulled free from the waist of her skirt and, as she stretches toward me, a line of soft skin has appeared between the material.

God, I wonder what she feels like…

“My glasses… you’re a lifesaver, thank you.

”

Even the simple touch of her hand sends a jolt straight through me, my cock swelling no matter how hard I try to ignore the effect she’s having on me.

“Thanks, I uh— I guess I should get on with grading.

”

“I guess you should.

Unless you plan to spend the night in your office.

”

Her tone is light and casual. It’s just an innocent comment, but I have to work hard not to choke on the image that pops into my mind.

Her bent over my desk, papers scattered across the floor as she—

“No, wouldn’t want that, would we?

”

Shouldn’t want that… can’t want that. I might have tenure now, but the ethics committee would absolutely lose it if any professor slept with a student, much less their TA.

“Honestly, I’ve always wished I could.

I used to dream about spending the night in the library as a little girl.

Is that totally lame?

”

“No, not at all.”

It would be so wrong… the age difference alone… and I’m her professor. Well… not hers… but… still.

I shouldn’t. I can’t. We can’t. But fuck, the idea of a little consensual power play is so hot. I try to break the tension and remind her where we are and what we’re doing.

“It’s a lot less appealing now though, right?

When you could be anywhere else but my messy office on a Friday night.

Surely you’ve got better things to do?

”

“Not really.”

She’s looking up at me, still on her knees at my feet, even though she handed me my glasses ages ago. She’s practically between my legs… and when my cock responds to the challenge in her eyes, I’m worried she’s seen it.

I try not to react, I don’t want to think too much about what she could do if she just leaned forward…
